This story is all about Casey and Melissa. You may recognize these two from a while back when I shot their engagement session! I actually blogged all about it too. I met Casey back when we both attended Longwood University together. We both participated in sports together and were in several organizations too. It’s safe to say that capturing her and Melissa’s wedding was definitely a full-circle moment. I felt so honored to have been the one to capture such magic. I can’t wait until you see all the beauty that was their New Jersey wedding at Scotland Run Golf Club.
The Scotland Run Golf Club was the perfect New Jersey wedding venue for Casey and Melissa. It was important to Casey and Melissa to have indoor and outdoor options for the wedding day. Especially if there was a chance of rain – #summerweather. Luckily for us though, it was an absolutely GORGEOUS summer day. Scotland Run Golf Club has some beautiful greenery and well-kept landscaping which makes it perfect for your wedding photos. The golf club has a wedding pavilion and a garden that is blanketed with a wide array of flowers. The scenery is definitely one of the key points that made Casey and Melissa choose this wedding venue for their special day. Find out more about the Scotland Run Golf Club!
It was a beautiful summer day, although rather hot. Nonetheless, we made it work and still had such a blast celebrating Casey and Melissa. We started off the day by hanging out with the two brides-to-be while they were getting ready. My second photographer and business bestie, Jordan, was my second photographer so we were able to tag team and have the most fun time. Having a second photographer on your wedding day in my eyes is an absolute must. It makes sure that no moment goes uncaptured, especially if the couple is getting ready in two separate locations!
Shortly after it was time for first looks. Now, something you don’t get to see is BOTH partners doing first looks, but of course, Casey and Melissa wanted to step outside the box and both do them. Which we love! Both of them chose to do a first look with their parents, wedding party AND lastly with each other. First looks just give that *wow* factor that we all love so much and really gets the tears rollin’ and flowin’. Always pack some tissues by the way because this can be an emotional rollercoaster!
After a rather emotional first portion of the day, Casey and Melissa were riding on cloud 9. The two of them and their love truly radiated and it was as if they were magnetically drawn to each other. Their love connection was captured beautifully on the camera and when it came to their portraits they were naturals. The Scotland Run Golf Club has this field filled with tall grass, which really stood out to Casey and Melissa. Naturally, they wanted to take some portraits there and really embrace the beauty of nature that surrounded them. We got some beautifully blurry moments and really captured their love in a candid, emotional, and a bit cinematic in a way.
Thanks to our well-planned out timeline, we were able to make it to the ceremony at the perfect time. By the way, if you don’t know about wedding timelines, you should check out this blog here! Casey and Melissa’s ceremony was held in an outdoor pavilion located at the venue. It was a tearful, emotional, joyful ceremony and one that made even me cry. Okay, maybe a few tears but I couldn’t help it! It wasn’t long until these two were officially married – ayyyy!!!
Casey and Melissa waltzed into their reception space hand in hand, embracing each other wholeheartedly. Their closest friends and family just witnessed them claiming their love and commitment to one another. Now…. it was party time. We spent the night eating good food, dancing our bums off, and really enjoying each other’s company. The day felt so surreal, I’m still pinching myself! Before packing up my bags we gathered everyone outside for their grand sparkler exit. Tip: Aim for the longer sparklers, they will last longer in case we have to do multiple takes!
It was the perfect ending to an absolutely perfect day. Casey and Melissa, congratulations and I am wishing you both nothing but happiness and love in the future – cheers!
