Mary and Michael’s Virginia House engagement shoot was a day filled with laughter and precious moments. As good friends of Mary, I had the pleasure of capturing their genuine connection, and let me tell you, these two are the silliest and cutest humans together!!!!
The day started off ethereal, reminiscent of a garden party, but things took an unexpected turn when the rain began to pour. However, this experience taught us all an important lesson: it’s not the end of the world if it rains on your special day. Of course it’s upsetting. duh. BUT there is always a solution. The key is communication with your vendors and your photographer to adapt to the circumstances.
The number one thing you can do is change the timeline, and if the rain catches you by surprise, embrace it (Of course, safety is always a priority, especially when dealing with lightening)! We can also just wait for gaps in the rain, move different parts of the day inside, and worst comes to worst, we just come back to the venue for more photos on a sunny day!
Like a true queen + King, Mary and Michael didn’t let the rain dampen their spirits. In fact, they remained true to their adventurous spirit, fully embraced the rain, playing and dancing together, and created such enchanting and timeless moments.
So, remember, unexpected weather can’t ruin your day if you trust your photographer and vendors. Communicate, adapt, and sometimes, playing in the rain can lead to the most unforgettable memories!!
