When Amanda + Billy first reached out to me and I heard all about their wedding day vision, I was hooked. Towards the beginning of their wedding planning Amanda & Billy weren’t entirely sure if they wanted a large or small wedding. While Billy wanted a larger wedding, Amanda wanted something a bit smaller so… in came a compromise. These two had one of the most beautiful West Virginia Intimate Spring Elopement and I am so excited for you to see all of the magic that we created.
One of the many things that was important to Billy & Amanda was to make sure that even though it was an intimate elopement, they were still surrounded by their close family and friends. Luckily for us, Amanda and Billy were able to find this INSANELY gorgeous A-frame cabin Airbnb in West Virginia which gave us very much Oregon vibes, no? Since it was such an intimate space, they were really able to enjoy it with their daughter and even their adorable pup. Despite the weather being a bit rainy, we were able to get some of those PNW and moody vibes.

The morning of their wedding, Amanda & Billy woke up with some friends who were staying at the cabin with them. They all shared mimosas and chatted as everyone was taking their time getting ready with hair & makeup. Towards the end of everyone getting ready, more friends and family began trickling in and the anticipation began building. The getting ready process can be quite a beautiful one, as it’s the morning before your life changes. No matter how long you have been anticipating this special day, it really doesn’t feel real until the morning of.
Tip: One of my biggest tips for the morning of your wedding is to make sure that you’re surrounded by people who are there to love & support you. The support and love that you receive the morning of your wedding day is more crucial than you may think. Planning a wedding… yes, even an intimate elopement, can be a lot of work. Surrounded yourself with people who are there to help ease any stress or tension. Most importantly, make sure you‘re around people who remind that it’s all about YOU!
After everyone was was done with their final touches, I stole the two lovers to take a few portraits. Since A-frames as they are have so much character, it wasn’t hard to let the space do a lot of the talking. Billy wore this emerald green suit, which was absolutely incredible. Amanda wore this sleeveless lace dress that made her look like a straight up princess. I pretty much died right then and there. The weather was on and off the entire day with rain, so as soon as the rain slowed down I snuck Amanda & Billy outside for a few more photos. We were really going for those ethereal/moody vibes and I think we nailed it… if I do say so myself.
Since it was raining, we had to wait a HOT minute in order for us to go outside and perform the ceremony. Trust me though… it was worth it. We held the ceremony on the outside deck of the Airbnb and it was just pure bliss. You could still hear the rain passing through the leaves in the tree and felt incredibly serene.
After the ceremony, we gathered together to eat dinner and watch Amanda & Billy have their first dance underneath the stars. Okay… well maybe not underneath the stars because it was cloudy & rainy but you know what I mean – LOL. It seriously was the perfect ending to an absolutely perfect day. I couldn’t have been more honored to capture such special moments for them. I immediately drove home and eagerly began editing. These photos turned out better than I could have imagined and I am so excited to share them today.
